We understand that stepping into a new community can be both exciting and a little intimidating.

That's why, from the moment you arrive, we will warmly welcome you with open arms and genuine smiles. Everyone deserves a safe space to explore being a follower of Jesus, ask honest questions, and connect with us on a deeper level.

OUR LOCATION

We are a local church in the heart of Door County, with a desire to glorify God, disciple believers, and activate the church body to serve in God’s kingdom.

CULTURAL DNA

  • Our services are focused on engaging in the deliberate act of recognizing God's worthiness through biblically-based preaching, heart-felt singing of praises, prayer and the public reading of scripture, all of which are designed to draw us deeper in communion with our Lord and Savior.

  • We desire to make more and better followers of Jesus Christ. Our continued growth as disciples is the will of the Father (1 Thes 4:3). Our call to disciple making is the will of the Son (Matt 28:19–20). Our empowerment for this task is given by the Spirit (Acts 1:8).  

  • We value loving diversity within the body of Christ. To that end, we desire all ages and stages of life to come together as a family to worship, study, and fellowship together. (John 13: 34-35)

  • We are a church family for God’s kingdom. We gather on Sunday to worship God, and then we scatter during the week to engage in gospel relationships with people in our community. We desire to meet people’s spiritual and physical needs as God provides us opportunity. (Luke 10: 29–37)

  • We exist ultimately to proclaim and magnify the name of Jesus to the ends of the earth. With the glorious message of the gospel, we desire to make disciples of all nations because all authority on heaven and earth has been given to our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt 28:18)

WHAT TO EXPECT ON A SUNDAY

  • We have two main entrances to our church sanctuary. On the west side (closest to Georgia St.) is our Family Entrance for children who participate in the Community Kids ministry downstairs. On the southeast side is our Main Entrance to the sanctuary upstairs. This is also the easiest entrance for those with physical challenges, as there are no stairs to navigate.

  • We want to worship God with our voices, our prayers, our hearts, our dress, everything! Come as you are. Wear clothes that you feel would honor and glorify God, and we are sure that he will honor your desire to give him your very best.

  • At Sturgeon Bay Community Church, we believe that families who worship together are a blessing to the Lord and to those around them. To that end, we hope you feel comfortable having your children worship alongside you on Sunday mornings. However, we also realize that you may have children who would benefit from worshiping in age-appropriate settings. So, please avail yourself of Community Kids at our first service.
