NICK WALZ

WORSHIP DIRECTOR

The Lord has brought me to Himself over and over again through the many things I've idolized and thought would lead to life. Every time I failed, every time I sought after something in place of God's sovereignty over all, He continually reconciled me with Himself and His mercy remained faithful and steadfast. He first brought me to Himself through my passion and zeal for music. Then through His grace, He showed me that He created me to worship, and He created music for His glory. He gave me melodies to show me a small glimpse of His own creativity. He gave me a work ethic to show me He Himself never stops working. He gave me a longing for personal connection to show me His own desire to be near to us. But overall, He gave me Jesus, so that I would come to know Him and be with Him forever.

I'm from Elk River, Minnesota, and came to know the goodness of a personal relationship with Jesus there through a local ministry. I was baptised there, in the Mississippi River, and I've taken the new life He has given me and sung the name of Jesus over thousands of people's lives and situations. I didn't sing very much before I came to know Jesus, but He gave me something to sing about. Following my desire to be a better musician, I decided to go to school at Berklee College of Music, where I received my Bachelor's in Contemporary Writing and Production. Since then, I have continued to seek ways that I can give my gifts to further the Kingdom, which led me here to Sturgeon Bay Community Church.
